Description This standard specifies the interaction with the OCCI Core Model and provides a RESTful API using the HTTP protocol. The programmable and standardized API allows the clients to issue requests to servers without concern as to the location or intermediary devices routing the requests. Servers in turn can send programming information back to the client and have it execute the code. This implies that each message contains everything that the client or server needs to execute the request. By using Universal Resource Locator (URL) and Universal Resource Identifier (URI) from a browser or direct web interface, information can be exchanged between clients and cloud servers through HTTP Get, Put, Post and Delete functions. This standard provides programmable and standardized RESTful API using the HTTP protocol. This API allows the client's web browser to acquire management information from the server such as security and authentication information. The client can also request, provision, deploy, operate, manage, and decommission their own services configured with approval processes from different cloud environment (e.g. Public, Private and Hybrid Clouds). 2016-09-14
